چکیده
Symmetry plays a central role in determining the polarization of spin currents induced by electric fields. It also influences how these generate spin-transfer torques magnetic devices. Here we show that an out-of-plane damping-like torque can be generated ruthenium dioxide (RuO2)/permalloy devices when Néel vector collinear antiferromagnet RuO2 is canted relative to sample plane. By measuring characteristic changes all three components electric-field-induced as function angle field crystal axes, find generates current with well-defined tilted orientation approximately parallel vector. A maximum efficiency per unit 7 ± 1 × 103 ??1 m?1 measured at room temperature. The observed angular dependence indicates this antiferromagnetic Hall effect symmetries are distinct from other mechanisms spin-current generation reported and ferromagnetic materials. (RuO2)

Electromagnons in the spin collinear state of a triangular lattice antiferromagnet.
Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy was performed to directly probe the low-energy (1-5 meV) electrodynamics of triangular lattice antiferromagnets CuFe(1-x)Ga(x)O2 (x=0.00, 0.01, and 0.035). We discovered an electromagnon (electric-field-active magnon) excitation at 2.3 meV in the paraelectric ↑↑↓↓ collinear magnetic phase, while this electromagnon vanishes in the ferroelectric helimagnetic pha...
متن کاملMagnetic vortex-antivortex crystals generated by spin-polarized current
We study vortex pattern formation in thin ferromagnetic films under the action of strong spin-polarized currents. Considering the currents which are polarized along the normal of the film plane, we determine the critical current above which the film goes to a saturated state with all magnetic moments being perpendicular to the film plane. We show that stable square vortex-antivortex superlattic...
متن کاملEnhancement in spin-torque efficiency by nonuniform spin current generated within a tapered nanopillar spin valve
We examine the effect that a spatially nonuniform spin current with a component polarized partially out of the plane has on a low saturation magnetization nanomagnet free layer. Micromagnetic simulations indicate that the spin-torque efficiency acting upon the reversing nanomagnet can be enhanced through this process, resulting in faster switching with smaller currents. In doing so, we determin...
متن کاملLifetime of gapped excitations in a collinear quantum antiferromagnet.
We demonstrate that local modulations of magnetic couplings have a profound effect on the temperature dependence of the relaxation rate of optical magnons in a wide class of antiferromagnets in which gapped excitations coexist with acoustic spin waves. In a two-dimensional collinear antiferromagnet with an easy-plane anisotropy, the disorder-induced relaxation rate of the gapped mode, Γ(imp)≈Γ(...
متن کاملNi3TeO6--a collinear antiferromagnet with ferromagnetic honeycomb planes.
We report a comprehensive study of magnetic properties of Ni(3)TeO(6). The system crystallizes in a noncentrosymmetric rhombohedral lattice, space group R3. There are three differently coordinated Ni atoms in the unit cell. Two of them form an almost planar honeycomb lattice, while the third one is placed between the layers. Magnetization and specific heat measurements revealed a single magneti...
